We have a pool of volunteers from different churches in Wellington, Hutt Valley and Porirua who are dedicated to making a difference in our community. We are a non-denominational Christian organisation. You don’t need qualifications or experience just a caring heart and a willingness to lend a helping hand.
All volunteers attend a training day which covers drug and alcohol information, communication skills, legal knowledge and evangelism. We also like our people to be trained in first aid and courses are run from time to time.
Volunteers are rostered on in a team of 4-6 people to go out every three to six weeks on Friday or Saturday nights. Without the assistance of these volunteers Drug-ARM would not be able to go out on the streets as we do.
NEXT VOLUNTEER TRAINING DAY
Date | Saturday 17 November 2018
Venue | River of Life Centre, corner of High Street & Lincoln Avenue, Avalon, Lower Hutt
Time | 9.30am to 2.30/3.00pm
If you are interested in becoming involved in the Drug-ARM Street Van ministry, this training is a pre-requisite to joining the team.
New volunteers need to complete an application form and provide a reference from your Pastor. If you do not have an application form please contact Julie Oldershaw (details below). Interviews will be undertaken by two Committee members for new volunteers and will be held at the end of the training day to confirm your suitability as a volunteer.
Please arrive by 9.30am for morning tea and the training will finish around 2.30pm followed by interviews.
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided – please bring a plate for a shared lunch.
We encourage all of our team members to come along for a refresher and to support and meet the new volunteers. It is a great opportunity for fellowship.
For more information and application forms you can contact Julie Oldershaw, Secretary, Drug-ARM on 021 267 5963 or email email@example.com.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Please contact us if you would like to get involved. We are always looking for more people to join us!
